Giving back to those in need is a philosophy I practice everyday. Community service is not just an event that happens once a year but an action that can happen throughout the day without you even know it's going to happen. To know I have changed someone's life is one of the greatest gifts I could have ever received.

2009 | Fitness Director at Positive Directions Equals Change

Every week I volunteer to teach a group of women at Positive Directions Equals Change strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, and a nutrition class. Many of these women are exiting treatment facilities for drug and substance abuse, and are completing an outpatient program at Positive Directions Equals Change in the Bayview. It is important that these women can continue to develop healthier lifestyles through fitness education. These fitness classes are a part of their recovery process and will create a better sense of self-esteem and self-confidence within themselves!
